Casing walls and sinking back boxes

Think you would be better off buying a wall chaser, particularly if you have a lot of chases it will pay for itself.
the attachment for the sds would do the job but could make a real mess, particularly if plaster is not bonded well. The wall chaser gives a much neater finish.

We've been doing this kinda thing manually for years! But yes, a wallchaser is a big help if you have a lot to do. They are basically two angle grinders together. Make sure you get a suction device too unless you like cleaning up inch thick dust!

True, wall chasers not only cut down on labour/time but also give a nice clean edge to your chases.....usually! On old plaster or render it might still start falling off though!

Check this picture out.....i picked up this lot off ebay for £120!!! SDS single and double box cutter, with dust collector and 5x 7mm SDS drill bits, 20mm SDS channel chaser, 80mm SDS bolster all in one box.

Ive just done a job....converted single socket to double, chased up to provide single spur for TV, shased another single point and up to ceiling for tv coax and point. Chased a further 2 double sockets on other side of room. With marking out and chasing....from memory it only took about 45min.....maybe hour max.......highly recommend getting something like. Nah if the wall caser is just two angle grinders, can I not just use an angle grinder ? It so happens my dad just brought a cheapo angle grider because cutting off 10mm off a tile using a normal tile cutter is difficult. It saves my wallet and my ears

Your choice how you do....just given a good option that works great for me.

You can use a single angle grinder but will take twice as long. Sometimes spending that extra £20-30 etc makes life a bit easier and quicker
