Hi guys,

Don't know too much about network cabling.
I need to run to a area where there is two computers being used and so need a 2 gang cat point.
Can I just daisy chain, or is it wise to send individual cables back to the hub?

Absolute maximum is 100m. (to stay within the standards) Work on 90 m. for the installed (solid core) cable from patch panel to outlet, and leaving up to 10 m. for the patch leads (flexible cable) at each end.
If you've got the job of terminating cables (and you've not done it before) take a look a some of the previous threads here's a starter for 10 :) :- http://www.electriciansforums.co.uk.../86346-data-comms-questions-2.html#post893636

if you are going to get close to the limit then an ethernet extender would be a good idea

this is the first one that came up in google (ir explains it)

instead of needing a power source it uses poe to power the device to boost the signal

you will need 1 cable per point, a punchdown tool is a must as well, makesure to use at least cat5e, cat6 etc
