Howdy y'all,

Doing a shed supply (Lets leave PME out of this please!!)

There's no chance of burying the cable whatsoever!.......has to be a catenery wire (only 2 meters max). Does it have to be a certain height? ....I can't see anything in the regs......it will be above reaching distance, but if there is something in the regs can someone tell me where abouts please!

cheers in advance!

at the end of the day, the heights recommended in the osg are a guideline assuming worst scenarios. as the man on site, you have to wegh up risk factors regarding whether or not that catenary is sited so as not to present a danger to persons and livestock, nor present a danger of the cable and associated equipment being damaged by the activities of the owner.

Could you not attach a piece of timber to the shed and the house spanning the gap and use this? Maybe attach steel conduit to the timber for mechanical protection. It then would not be a cable spanning two buildings or structures as the shed would then be part of the house as it is attached to the house. Just a thought

wouldn't this change the detail of the shed, maybe you should get planning permission from you LBC?

:)

Use a length of galv conduit with dome covers screwed to the house and shed, make them a tight fit
If the pipe needs raising, use some uni strut bolted to the shed as well

You can charge them extra then because it will also act as an excellent fitness accessory for the customer to improve his chin ups, or even a washing line for his Mrs,

excellent path for a fire in the shed to travel to the house
