should be fine. thing is.if a spark had changed the light, he/she would have checked (with a meter) that the circuit had no faults. this is something that a DIYer could not do. however, it'sunlikelythat the circuit has a fault unless someone's been messing around.
Its been on for around 5 to 6 hours constantly now so surely if was a problem it would have happened by now. Fingers crossed all ok going forward. Thanks a lot for your help today mate. Much appreciated.

It doesn't work that way. If, for example, the luminaire wasn't adequately earthed it would not be noticed until a fault developed within it rendering the luminaire live. You would never know until you came into contact with it.

So because of the confusion with the 2 blue wires and no definitive markings to say if live or another nuetral then im guessing its best to get it checked out? When you say come into contact with it do you mean someone could get an electric shock from switching it on or just as bad, spark something within the house weather switched on or not?
