Been asked by the company I sub for to go and test a provide a part p cert for a customers who as done his own electrical work while our fitters fitted his new kitchen.
I thought we werent allowed to test other people installations with the part p?

Your not and doing yourself out of work by cert'in it(Not that you would i hope).
Iv got no end of mates who are shall we say "DIY sparks"
1 of them said hes wired his extension and wants me to Cert it. Its ok tho cos he learnt how to do it on the internet!
The cert says "design,Installed and tested"
Do a PIR cos thats covering your ---.

You really need to clarify what you're being asked to do.
If it really is to sign off someone's DIY as your own installation then you're breaking the terms of your scheme membership at least, that's before any legal issues come in to it.

If your only going to end up testing it you not going to get payed much for it. Is it worth putting your name to it for the money?
I know your not saying you ve installed it or design as Superspark23 has pointed out. Personally Id say thanks but no thanks. If the guy you subby for is a good bloke he ll understand.
If you do end up doing it Make sure you keep your copy of the test results nice and safe!

say no. this is screwing up the trade big time. And how lucky are you? Lucky enough to get away with it if someone dies or a fire starts etc ?
