Guys/gals, in a domestic install of smoke/heat detectors, beyond issuing an EIC or Minor Works, do any of you also issue any other form of "fire alarm" certification? If yes, what do you issue?
Many thanks.

Thanks all for the responses. I've been using the NIC online forms, but got into a debate with another electrician who was adamant that in a domestic LD2 system, nothing beyond the electrical Certs was required........although maybe Murdoch agrees with him???

I was discussing smokes with my Stroma assessor recently - we agreed that they don't come under the remit of the schemes, or even sparks as they are not in BS 7671
Not sure what Stroma have to do with it.
But your fire alarm should be designed, installed and tested to BS 5839 and yes BS 5839 also makes reference to BS 7671 as well as building control part B vol 1 in this case.
Only the same as your emergency lighting should be to BS 5266

If a sparks installs them then they must be under the remit of that sparks, and they should be complying with the current British standards.
