I'll have a go myself first to see if i can do it. If it looks too ambitious I'll call in a leccy

It'll cost a lot more after you've had a go than before, and you might have to buy 2x new PIRs if you go and blow them up!

Will take a decent electrician a few minutes to sort out. No flashes, bangs or drama.

Get a DI in and the house will need rewiring.

What it comes down to is the job is so simple any Electrician would never even need to think how to make it work. As mentioned a few times from the lads here there is a dangerous situation waiting for an enthusiast if he or she is out of their depth with this job, the OP should seek professional help, as post 17, don't get a DI in though :smilielol5:

I doubt the OP is reading this thread anymore or taking any notice of the responses.

I'm reading it. Just busy. Waiting for a second price from a leccy to fit as the first, ÂŁ120 was steep.

Did that include supply of the 2 PIRs as well?

No, to fit the ones I've already got. I'd pay that of it was a couple of hours work but as one has already mentioned it'll on take minutes. I'll try get better price or not bother

Agree seems steep, I would suggest 70 quid plus vat for a proper tradesman so around 84 quid not 120, thats for 2 hours labour and travel, but 120 is not big money for peace of mind is it?, always get 2 or 3 quotes anyhow.

It's just the fact that if like to do it myself if possible as I've fitted ceiling fans, kitchen lights, normal 2 way switches, ovens, etc so I'm not a total noob I appreciate everyone's comments :)

Ok perhaps im a bit grumpy today but ste.suv does NOT know how to wire this and is on here for advice........BUT is blatantly going to attempt it himself now after the advice he has been given and potentially cause a fire or hurt himself in the process.
Im all for chipping in with help for other sparkies as we all need advice from time to time but NOT a DIY electrician !!!!
I didnt serve 5 years as an apprentice and spend thousands on tools and testers etc just to give out free advice to MR DIY who does not want to pay pittence to a sparks for a proper job !!!
Sounds harsh but just how it is !!!!

But surely if it takes "minutes" it is simple once you know how. And as for the "I paid x amount of pounds for my qualifications" I too paid x amounts of pounds for mine too but I don't begrudge folk/noobs/enthusiasts a little advice,

That will work fine as long as the Pirs use relay switching, some don't.
