Chasing sockets brick blown

Hi guys,

I’ve chased out a hole for double socket and noticed that some of the brick is about to crumble out. Only chasing for 25mm back box. Directly on the opposite side of the wall is a single socket which I intend to change to a double. (Single has 35mm back box) therefore the two sockets are back to back. My concern now is that the crumbling brick from new chase is from the single socket opposite and when I come to chasing out the single to a double I will blow the brick right through and basically have a hole in the wall. If this happens what should I do? Have I completely cocked it up or if anyone has any ideas it’s much appreciated. Also will this be a structural issue?

If you make a hole by mistake, just tell the customer it's so they can feed an extension lead through and plug it in on the other side.

In case the doors not big enough to put the lead through?

i've used floor tile adhesive a few times. it sets like concrete.

Dry wall adhesive(dot and dab)........dries fairly quick (especially if it’s past it’s use by date!) and it sets rock solid

dirty water will set the mix quicker .but you need to be fast.

or you can add some dry cement powder to some bonding. slap it on quicker than a plumber asks for his money.

I would use wall board adhesive, sticks to anything and dries rock hard

i've used floor tile adhesive a few times. it sets like concrete.

My first choice every time ^^^^ If you get the rapid set it will be set hard inside a hour and you can drill and fix into it if so needed. Plasterboard adhesive works well also in a similar fashion. There's also an adhesive called "no more ply mega strength"

Although its used mainly for a certain application it works really well for a quick fix solution as it sets in 5 minutes and sticks to pretty much anything. Which by the way you have to watch out for as it expands slightly when applied and sticks to everything and is very difficult to remove. each tube comes with disposable gloves because you cannot get it off your skin! (I've found out from experience)!
But because it comes in a tube you can keep it handy on your van. In fact its got me out of many a scrape. I once broke down in my van because the gear linkage plastic coupling fell apart. I used this glue to fix it and was back on my way in 15 mins.
