I reckon that my best value for money tool I have is a Rapitest WPP123. Under a tenner and is very useful. Used only with common sense and experience I find it very useful to have in knocking around my tool box. It's depth sensitivity is pretty poor for copper, but when you get used to it then it has its place. It is of course no where near as good as my vastly more expensive Fluke for finding cables in critical, greater depth and complicated situations.
