I was at a cust premises yesterday which had a timer fitted into the meter tails, presumably for off peak cheap power but his meter was one of the new digital jobs that gives 2 readings, one for normal tariff & one for off peak. Is the old timer necessary when a new type meter is fitted? I've seen a number of installs where there is a separate board for storage heaters on off peak power but this guys electric heaters are through his main C/U. He is concerned that he isn't getting cheap rate power, am I right in telling him that his digital meter looks after that for him?
