chuck in a 16mm

customer is building a large garage which may be converted to a house in the future. would it be wise to pull in a 16mm supply to cope with the potential rise in demand in the future ?

assume you mean a 16mm SWA. if so, the answer is yes. and duct it.

Ask the customer whether they intend to convert and sell it if so you will be getting a new DNO supply... the question is if you add the perceived demand of a second house onto existing house supply - would it be large enough... if not then save the copper as a supply upgrade will be needed and probably making more sense to have a new DNO supply to new house.... if it is large enough then yes run it in either 16 / 25 mm dependent on install methods, length etc.

Just put the duct in. If it's run properly with nice gentle bends, you can pull in whatever cable you like, if required, at a later date.
