City and Guild 2365 Exam 202

Hello Everyone,


I'm studying Electrical installations C & G 2365 by myself(Home Study).
I have finished all necessary topics involving unit 202:
-Principles of electricity
-Principles of basic electrical circuits
-Principles of basic electromagnetism (e.g., induction, AC and dc, transformer, motor, etc.)
-Principles of basic mechanics
-Electrical quantities in star delta configurations.
-Operating principles of a range of electrical equipment.


I feel confident to take the exam of this unit, but I don't know how to go about it as an independent student.


I would appreciate if I could get some help with questions:
1) There are fixed dates to take the exam or you can take any time you are ready?
2)Do you have to find centre and register with them to take the exam or just C & G?
3)Do you have to take the exam at the centre?
4)How much it cost roughly for the Unit 202 exam?

Who is your home study provider?

You will need to enroll with a City and Guilds Centre or college, there are parts of the 2365 which need guided learning so you will need someone to confirm you have received the appropriate inputs and sign up to say you have completed, there are people who do this by way of distance learning http://www.thompsontrainingltd.com/ are who I am using although there are obviously other training providers, expect to pay around £1600 for the level 2 and £1800 for the level 3. There are also practical elements which you will have to complete such as ladders and scaffolding and an installation exercise.

With most City and Guilds exams you can just let your training provider know when you are ready and they will set the exam up for you on a laptop or written ones in a classroom environment, the 202 is an online exam. There are loads of good practice exam questions at 2365 Index

Thompson do a monthly payment scheme if you do not want to pay upfront. You can do exams as and when you are ready, with Thompson you could do this at their site in Bury St Edmunds or they have facilities in Ilford.

If I am getting this right you need to enroll on a level 2 course with a college or training centre first, you can't just sit the exams.
