Clamp Meter :: Opinions Please

Hello

Can I please have your opinions on cheap clamp meters ie Philex 83007R or similar. What do you think is the most reliable under say £50 , or should I wait and save. Only padding about on domestic work.

No good for earth fault checking as it's not got a good (low) enough resolution, so unless you have some other devious use for it, save your money!

Highly recommend this as I got one for out here as the majority of my work here is now on equipment that as high protective condutor current and it does everything I asked of it.

Even in a domestic situation it will help you check the protective conductor current, if you have a problem of a tripping RCD, and I got 3 of these for just over 60 pound each, so not too expensive.

Today's electricians NEED a leakage clamp, as part of there standard test kit. Makes fault finding on tripping RCD devices a breeze, and far more accurate than any ramp test on an MFT'er
