Is there any such thing as a cable clip gun? Like a nail gun, but fires a variety of cable clips? Not staples, cable clips?

ISTR tower made one many years ago for T&E but it didn't catch on

The ones available now are mainly for round cables as used in the alarm / comms industries

Nah wasn't really after staples. I have a staple gun especially for telephone cable which uses 'insulated' U shape staples, and the so-called insulation is a bit of white paint. Not sure I'd be happy using them on low voltage.

... but thanks anyway, chaps.

Ooh tidy! Do you reckon our gods at elecsa/nic will be happy with us using these in lieu of normal cable clips? Just fed up of spending my life tap-tap-tapping the darn things in, only for them to either bend on me, or take out half a pound of mortar....

All I have ever read states cable should be clipped and the distance between clips none have stated what type of clip should be used so how can they object;)

I have had one for a few years now, the aforementioned high rake are happy with them. not sure how much the replacement clips are as i just put them on top of jobs

Phil, do they go into mortar/blockwork, or even brick? Or just wood and that?

wood and plasterboard no probs some mortar great not a chance with the brick work . they are great for the lofts or voids especially where it`s an issue trying to get a hammer up and nail them on a few seconds and it`s job done.

got the one for cat 5 bell wire etc that`s good love doing the cctv or cat 5 cables piece of cake to drop that gear in.
