Completed an EICR last week on a flat that is roughly 20 years old, wired to the 16th.

It had been tested last in 2007 and had been given a code 1 for no supplementary bonding in the bathroom.

Slightly harsh to say the least but after investigation I found that all the pipes were plastic.

Also a code 2 was given for the SWA sub-main cable not clipped above the board (400mm in length).

But the termination was not even noted. See picture.

Overall a unsatisfactory was given yet I could for the life of me see why.

Ps I gave it a unsatisfactory cos some one had change a mirror light to a shaver socket and not connected the earth. (C2)

That is so rough!! The fact the installer must have looked and thought "oh,that is not IP4X, where is my silicone.....". I could not bear to leave that even on an EICR, just 15 mins, an adaptable box (it would need one now!) and a gland.

Must be an upgrade, usually its a jubilee clip earthing the armour.

Even the Jubilee clip would be an upgrade on some of the shyte I have come across ;) if they have bothered to Earth the armourings at all that is ;) , I have seen the armourings just twisted together and forced into 1 or more terminals in the MET inside the CU, sometimes a haircut lol with only the few remaining strands just shoved into 1 terminal hole. :)
