Is that polystyrene backed plasterboard as it looks like it from photo's with no capping on cables ?

Two dis-similar poly's not good to be together as could melt each other.

Needasparks as far as i can see there is no cable guard but the cables are clipped up the wall about 25mm away from the poly. The concern is about the connections not being fully enclosed

as far the cables are run, i would make a comment, same as enclosed in a stud wall really....(if you can say they do not touch the polystyrene). As far a being fully enclosed i would recommend a drylining box is installed. I have done the same before to dry line a single block room but always mounted the metal boxes onto 3x2 timbers so they will finish flush with the plasterboard bringing cable entrys into the rear of the box away from the insulation.

i was thinking a code 2 ( anyone agree) as it does not comply with reg 430 something( dont have the book in front of me) but i also have seen some stuff is ok in non combustable voids subject to glow wire test ect ect

did not see the connectors.......opps my bad (just skipping through) if it is a wall light, i would code 2 that and suggest a round patress box or a suitable JB (now has to be marked MF according to the new ammend.)

RE: MF joints - These are now to be maintainance free......now push-in to connect rather than a brass screw term. FIRE HAZZARD waiting to happen i think.

Im verymuch in agreement richard Iv had n seen a load of "push in connections " that pull out easier than they push in specialy when made off with flex
