Hi All

I have been asked to carry out a PIR on a fastfood outlet that i wired 15 years ago. The place has had no maintenance, no other PIR and i can truthly say its not really monitored by a competent person elctrically or maintenance wise.
My signature is going to be on the cert and i know due to the change to the 17th BRB there is going to be a lot of recommendations (the client is going to groan, moan, then hate me)
In your opinions, (be blunt). List the deviations you know that will occur and help me re-assure myself that i will be doing my job right. (client is one of my best and i am stuck between loosing future works and doing my job right !!)

Cheers Ash

ashrow as its your signature you have to be lunt and honest with the report and list all defects.

As a little helper to the report list how the faults could be fixed.

I am sure if you could sit down and talk him through it its business not personal and even though it will cost him money he will apprciate you telling him whats wrong and how to fix them that telling him its all fine and you ending up in Jail in the same cell as him.

Im not sure we could list any deviations, not having seen the install.

All manner of things could have been fiddled with over the years.

As above, you do have to be honest, list the defects and go from there.

Good luck!

Thanks for the replies. My biggest worry is there are over 45 ccts all less then 50mm in wall or behind panels and 45 rccbo's is one hell of recommendation !

remember if its A pir its a recomendation you could code 3 sockets in use that still have a low ZS and are not used outside or in special locations same with lights and fixed equipment. Code 1 sockets that could be used outside. Just a thought. Then suggest that all code 1,2, are fixed as soon as then think about 3s and 4s You have told him the faults so your covered and all major ones fixed and he is happy as it doesnt cost him a huge ammount.
