I

itty

This resistance has melted as quick as the ice burgs..........what the hell??

There are couple of other members making ripples, but that's all. Everyone one is interested in their own little world - does this inverter match these panels etc.

This industry that you have worked hard for will end April.

I'm walking away, but I wonder if you have considered the ramifications. GET ONTO YOUR LOCAL MUPPETS

Slagging off the forum members wont get you support, in the modern climate this was forseeable, getting a short term good investment from the goverment could never last and was put into place to sow the seeds of renewable energy but in reflection of the debts both Britain and the crashing euro over the past 2 yrs are facing it was inevitable as been an easy target for cuts, yes its going to effect alot of members but those with good business sense who havent put their eggs in one basket will adapt, if this market does collapse then it will only hurt the short sighted riding a very big wave, i will probably stir alot of backlash from this post but i have said this previously long before this happened, i was given the opportunity to go in this direction with all my courses paid for and a 6month contract but it may have cost my customers of 20yrs just for a quick profit, i decline with my above explanation for which they couldnt see.
Im not trying to rub people up the wrong way but seriously can you say you didnt see this coming, employee's i have total sympathy for but the bosses it was painted in neon lights when it was first introduced.... a deal too good to be true cant last.

I find your comments quite insulting. You're suggestig I have sought a quick ride to wave. Well, it aint quite like that. Takes quite a while to get accredited.

I'm looking for camadrie, not resistance from a superior being.

As i said i wasnt trying to rub you up the wrong way or anyone else and have full sympathy in what this side of the industry is going through, i myself in my early days have taken the wrong route and learned a harsh lesson that i wasted my time and money and apologise if it was insulting but was a view ive aired long before as a pre-emptive warning but got backlash then that the goverment cant go back on the deal.... all it comes down to was that they forgot to mention (tactical) that it was a temp' deal and subjectable to reform, in the short term a big unsupportable industry rises, shooting up employment (good for statistics) and then they reform the deal when it exceeds their budget limits. Unfortunatley this comes at a cost of alot of geniune companies who have invested time and money, but ive seen these companies rise & boast about there turnover from a 2yr industry that well exceeds my income after ive worked for 25 yrs and if i may say so i know my job well and have a good customer base. It just seems strange that alot of people were shocked by the goverments announcements.
Apologise if a little harsh in the way i come across and im no superior being or am i trying to be one, just a bloke with many yrs of experience passing down an opinion that should be respected like any other, i never suggested everyone sought a quick ride on a wave alot just didnt see this coming i suppose my business knowledge gave me a leading edge but yes agree maybe could have worded last post a little better.

Have done the local MP thing and once I've got the stock ordered, cashflow sorted and subbies sorted then there will be time next week to join the crusade. Just not enoug time to do both and try to cover some costs for next year.

But that is exactly why the shock 6 week timetable was announced. No time for resistance from small businesses. When someone has a serious accident as a result of this ridiculous rush I hope the government will be held to account.

Unfortunately the Government won't be held to account even though they have applied the pressure. They gave themselves the umbrella of you risk assessing. Why do you think you pay for the privilege of being a certified installer. Your then qualified to be accountable. Their on a win win.

I am offering all the resistance I can. I have signed petitions, wrote my MP and whinged like a girl since last Friday. In between, I have try and run a business. If we carry on like we are, we think we'll make enough money in November to pay our wages until the end of February. Paying my mortgage is my main goal from now on.

The problem is, no one is interested in what the tradesman has to say. MPs always have and always will look on at us as a dirty and barely necessary industry.

I made ripples with my local MP and was able to get her ask for a debate on Thursday morning in the commons, I am meeting her today and will give a interview to the local radio this afternoon (I don't seek the lime light, would gladly ask some else to do it if I could) and like many on here the goal is to pay the bills. I have found that twitter has a mass protest effect and this was how I was able to get my local MP's support which I have to say I am impressed with the response.

Like many, I fear for the future; but it would be sad if you did nothing and at least if the this happens you have the satisfaction that you did at try to make your self heard. Its a mad house, many installers now under pressure ZERO inverters in the UK!
