Hi folks,

Ok my background, Sparkie to trade, back on the tools about 5 years and worked on a few Oil & Gas rigs / skids on shore.

Been advised a few times to go for my Compex to have that edge over those without, for future jobs, and now considering it.

I've looked online but can't find any study notes / past papers etc to look at to see what I'd be letting myself in for, to help me decide whether to go for it. My problem, if that's the correct term, is that at 48 I feel a bit long in the tooth for going back to class. To be honest I found the 17th update I did a bit of a slog! I seem to now struggle (?) with retaining the information overload on the intensive courses you seem to get these days.

Do any members know of any sites that would help me decide? I've googled but only seem to find training centres, but not any providers of actual course notes, past papers etc.

Thanx in advance

Cheers.

Horses for courses Telectrix well done to you, however only I know how I feel about going back to college etc. No need for the "my arse" comment.

Was only looking to see if anybody had any links to good sites I could use.

Mods please lock / delete thread.

Cheers

I think Tel was trying to be encouraging rather than anything else.

Your best bet might be to contact one of the training providers to ask for a meeting with them to discuss your suitability to do the course. They should be able to provide examples and information about what is required.
