Hi all,

A question for Compex electricians relating to certification of electrical installation works in a hazardous area (EX01-EX04). We are in the final stages of qualifications with a resit of an exam but have started a job where we will use another company for final certification due to time constraints.

My question is, do the final as built drawings, tagging of ATEX enclosures including the data entry to the sites monitoring systems (EXAMs) need to be done before the final certificate is issued? Or can these be done following commissioning and making the enclosures live?

Any advice welcome.

Mick

Mick, if it was on my site, having the Compex certificate would be a prerequisite before work starts. Is the equipment supplied by others? Have you checked over the Haz Area plan?

I guess it comes down to the client at the end of the day.

What is the nature of the install?
