Hi All

New to this site, I'm doing my Compex course in the next few weeks and after as much info as I can get!! If anyone knows of any sites or links to do a mock theory test or any good books/notes for revision, I'm currently reading the ATEX Explained but as I say after as much info/help as possible Any personal experience would be appreciated as well.

Cheers Guys

I done my complex a couple of months ago. My advice is not to read a single book until you have done the first day of the course. That way you will have a little idea of what to look for. It's a different kettle of fish compared to what your probably used too. Reading books and past exam papers will only confuse matters trust me. You have 3 days to cram a hell of a lot in so make you so read your notes on the night time etc. the complex centre should provide you will all the books for free. If you feel you still need to look at something research zones and gas types etc. simple stuff. Good luck

Cheers Andy, Ive not done any of this type of work before and been thrown in at the deep end by my company to get it done and told "I can't fail!" so the pressures on! I'm just trying to get an idea of what I'm up against. Thanks for the advise and ill look into the zones and gas types.

I working with guy at moment who has compex and trying to get offshore , He said he has books that I can lend.

Maybe be he got these books at the centre he did his training.. I'm nearly sure hel bring them in tomorrow.. So hold up

I know 3 friends that failed there complex. I failed mine first time. Out of a class of 11 8 people failed theres. Don't feel pressured into passing first time it's a very difficult course. Take it easy

Have a look here http://www.*******************/Guide_to_the_Electricians_CompEx_course.html

Just stay of the pints in the evenings and read through the Toolbox guide that you will be given.

Also, you will be expected to make off a number of braided and swa cables with ex glands.
