Hi all

Just completed the CompEx course in Hull, found it very challenging. Even the guys who already worked in the offshore/petrochemical industry found it a challange. Has anyone completed the course? If so did you find it difficult? Has anyone any idea about pass rates etc? A few people in the group myself included asked the lecturer about the pass rates and never got an answer! Now just a eight week wait for the results.

I did it at HOTA (Hull) years back and yes, you had to study for it.

I was told it was a 40% national pass rate, HOTA was 60 at the time.

I was sat back in my chair at the start thinking it was a week off work UNTILL the chap piped up 'There are 10 of you in here, national statistics dictates only 4 of you are walking out with a pass'. After that I sat up straight and got my head on....

I did my practical in a bay next to an instrument tech, he switched his rig on, pop went the RCD and off he went with his tool bag in his hand. What a waste of 800 quid and a week of his life.
