Conduit back boxes 16mm knockouts

Don't suppose anybody knows where I can source some 2 gang metal back boxes that are compatible with the old steel conduit systems? Basically need to change a 1 gang to a 2 gang but local wholesalers can't seem to locate anything. The old conduit is about 16mm diameter so knockouts need to fit this.

That'll be 5/8" conduit at a guess.
You'll have to get a little bit creative I suspect, is the conduit the cpc?

Conduit is the cpc yeah.

Cone cutter?

??

Conduit adapted to make it 20mm.

There's really not much hope of adapting it, to get under the floor is a no go as she's put down laminated flooring over hatch!! There's no play in the conduit either, must be saddled underneath.

I have 2 left , had them for over 30 years.

Boxes? If so would you be willing to sell them?

No they are conduit adapters, imperial to metric, like couplers. Not boxes of them just 2.

You've got to maintain a good connection then. How does the box connect to the conduit currently? Is it the old old cast iron box or is it bush and coupler onto a more modern style box?
Your only option may be to mount a twin surface box over the front of it.

Are they 3/4" or 5/8" (I think unless it was 1/2")?
The 5/8" adaptors are like hens teeth these days, wholesalers only keep 3/4" and 1"

Thanks anyway.

It's a more modern style box attached by bush & coupler, would still say it's about 20 years old at least though.

As above use a conversion socket or use a metal clad surface back box (as it has not got knock outs in the back) if the hole is deep enough of course and drill out 16mm or cone cutter as suggested to get the exact size, You may struggle to drill out a normal metal back box due to the knock outs and you need a good connection for the earth .
