Configuring motor to run off single phase?

We have got a hydraulic motor/powerpack for leveling legs of a trailer. However this trailer is running off a 15KW inverter, so the motor needs to run off single phase.

The motor has come configured for 3 phase, however the motor plate does say it will run off single phase.

Would i be right in thinking it would need 2 capacitors? (start and run), and then the busbar's between W1+V1, V2+U2?
With capacitor's between U1+W2, and U2+W2?

Looks like delta connection on the nameplate which is 230v…

Easiest option is to run it through a VFD. It will not run from single phase, the 230V is for running in Delta which is 230 volts per phase.

I have a smaller version of that motor for running a lathe, not a bad make.

I have a hydraulic four post car ramp in my workshop with a 2kW 3 phase motor, and have run it faultlessly off of a 230V single phase supply for the 20 years or so that I've had it.
I configured the motor from star to delta, added a permanently connected 'run' capacitor, and a 'start' capacitor, switched by a current operated relay.

and i always used to think that a 4 post ramp needed a phase each for 3 of the posts and a neutral for the 4th post. each post having the appropriate wrap of tape around it, red,yellow,blue, black. they then go up with a 120 deg. separation, wobbles the car somewhat, finds the suspension squeaks. ???

To note here using an inverter to run single to 3ph and swapping the motor configurations will draw about 15+ amps off the supply, take that into consideration and size your mcb as stated in the drive instructions.

So the hydraulic manufacturer is going to send over a single phase 3KW motor the replace the 3PH one, however its rated current is 17.75A which isn't ideal, but its only used for set-up.

Is there going to be any issues with using a motor off an inverter? (have never done it), with the start up currents of the motor?

I am puzzled by this.

You're using £20,000 worth of battery banks and inverters, but can't spring the few hundred quid for a 1-3 VSD to smoothly run the original motor?

Priorities much?
