must say im still confused, my thought was there was an NVQ where you have site visits and build a portfolio to prove your knowledge and skills

Yes there is look at post 6. Best bet would be to ring one of the providers. I can personally recommend quickstep as thats who I done my nvq3 with (not the mature candidate assessment mind you).

cheers for the advice.. was it the 2357 course you did.. from what ive gathered theres the 2356 for mature experienced electricians and the 2357 which is an apprentaship so you need an employer.. was hoping there was another option for if I was classed as too inexperienced for the 2356 and cant get an employer

yes i did the 2357.

i think you can do the nvq as self employed and get your supervisor on jobs to sign paperwork

I think you can do a 2365 Level 3 and then a Bridge Units for the 2357 (NVQ) but that needs to show work
which i think you could do by the experiance ..

Basically there is one Unit more (there is a site for courses for electricians and city and guild coding)
and then showing work ... (i wont even being to guess how to spell it .. Port-fo-lee-ow)

and then you have the AM2
I am guessing you have done your 17th Edition too!! (just to make sure here)

------------

JIB Card drives me nuts, as i see it the C&G2330 Is more the learning and paper work (no real hands on work, class room is naff all like real world..) and the NVQ3 2357 has the real world in, Plus one extra unit.

But JIB Gold asks for NVQ3 or C&G2330 L2+3 & NVQ3.. If i have the NVQ3 i wouldnt need the C&G2330 2+3.

Your right mate as long as you have nvq3 you wont need the tech cert its in black and white on the site NVQ3 is the minimum industry standard. I did the old parts 1&2 (236) but all they seemed bothered about was the nvq
