Consumer unit below main fuse

Just a very quick one as can't find anything that answers my question

Doing a re wire and a very old property the main incoming cables come in half way up the wall.... providing I don't run my circuit cables past them is there any reason I can't fit the consumer unit below the main fuse?

I can't think of a reason why not but I don't want something saying absolute no no and I've not seen it

a picture would help. otherwise, can't see a problem. jus don't clip cables to the cut-out. ?
