Mr.Black

Alright lads just need some verification.

Doing a consumer unit change and adding downlights in bathroom.

Am i correct in saying that:

1.Do periodic inspection on existing installation and rectify any code 1 and code 2.
2.Change consumer unit.
3.Do E.I.C only for board being mounted and downlights(.On same sheet).

Cheers fellas much obliged.

depends if they have requested the pir and repairs, if not some simple tests to check c/u wont cause any probs then do the swap anf full eic

no need for downlights as the whole circuit will be tested after the c/u swap

I went with the periodic first chaps.Done R1+R2 instead of R2.Used same results for E.I.C.Board was old 3036's so did rcd's and Zs after i swapped board.

Just as well the kitchen light was full of water and was a metal fitting!!!!Bathroom was being re-fitted.

Will go this way from now on if c.u. replacement is required just to be on the safe side!

Anyone think this is a good idea or am i wasting time?
