Hi,

I’m trying to terminate three 2.5mm cables within one termination block, but no matter how tight I twist them I cannot terminate them within the same block. Can anyone suggest a method of terminating these cables within the block? CU has wire cartridges and was probably installed when the house was built around 1969. Should I use one of these and can anyone suggest the correct size …………

Thanks for the replies so far.

Due to its location there are no accessible junctions to spur from the ring inside the property, thus i am spuring directly from the CU on the same circuit as the ring a two gang socket. By "block" I mean live/load block under the removable wire fuse.

By your terminology, I would suggest calling a competent electrician to complete the work.

I think you will struggle to get 3 old stranded 2.5 cables into the terminal on the old Wylex fuse boards.

Suggest you look further up the circuit, carry on like that you may well have problems/fires/electrocutions etc......

To quote my mate Grannysmiff "Twistage causes burnage" Sure he must have got this term from college?????????????

Can you give this information before the connection problem is faced

What is the earthing system
What is the installation Ze
What is the protective bonding situation
What is the Rcd rating
What is the overcurrent rating
What is the Zs of the ring final
Is there continuity of that ring
What routing of the installed cable has been used
What is the R1+R2 of that spur

If you will supply this information I am sure we can make progress

These items need to be assessed and found to be adequate before the addition can be carried out unfortunately

Thanks for all the replies.I think Wago is the way to go, or Junction on ring return near CU. PS regarding Competency....I'm L2/L3 2330/2391/17th passed 2007-2010 so my terminology must be up-to-date?!:confused:
