Hello All,
I have got to replace a consumer unit but due to the very limited cable lengths these will have to be extended.....Is crimping ok or what else could you recommend to comply with the 17th edition??????
Thanks Rob

crimping is ok. crimp them with a bit of heat shrink over the top and put the cable in trunking out the way. You can also use jb's but they don't look to good. Its up to you.

Hi Kduck and Patrick,
Ok thanks just wanted to be sure.Just one last thing , i take it the current rating of crimps is a consideration , so can you suggest manufacturers or suppliers !
Cheers Rob

most wholesalers will have box sets of mixed smaller sizes ie 1.5, 2.5 etc. make a note of what size cables you have or trim off a sample and show the supplier. try and spend a few quid on better than cheapest crimper you'll be glad of it too the basic ones can twist up and be harder to work with

fair play kduck is already there
