Hi

Need to upgrade Consumer Unit to 17th Edition 100A Lights up and down 5amp to 6amp, bathroom heater 5amp to 6amp, ring main upstairs from 15amp to 32amp, living room sockets 15amps to 32amps and kitchen ring main from 15amp to 32amps.

Total 108amps in practice you will not pull this load advice please.

Thanks

Mark

Sounds normal enough, taking diversity into account. I know it says somewhere in the red book that maximum load shouldn't be exceeded even before diversity, but that would make about 99% of new single phase 100 amp installations in this country in contravention to regs. Looks ok to me, unless I've misunderstood the question!!

wot you need to do to determine max demand once you have installed everthing correctly is turn on all the major appliences like cooker, ketle, all the lights, tv, shower if you have one, thn measure ya max demand with ya clamp meter and record the result, hope this helps.

You need to apply diversity to the circuits mate.
Lighting - 66% of total current demand for each circuit
Power - 100% of the first ring circuit + 40% of all other circuits
Cooker - 10A + 30% of remaing rated current + 5% if the CCU has a socket outlet
Shower - No diversity allowable

Hi
Once the Power is turned on i understand that all sockets will not be energized at once. (our house) ring main up and down 6 sockets, kitchen 2 sockets.

Lights on all times.

Thanks for your answers

Mark
