I am in the middle of a debate as to how to connect this contactor in the attached picture.

The live feeds are going from the breakers to number 2 in each contactor (1L1 to number 2 in the first contactor, 1L2 to number 2 in the second contactor etc) and there is a neutral from the neutral bar in the board to A2 in the first contactor which is then linked to A2 in the other contactors.

Which terminals would the outgoing live and neutral cables go in to for each contactor?

Simple as that.

Please can somebody put and end to this. The person I am debating with is severely annoying as he is adamant he knows how to connect it and will not have it when I am telling him he is wrong.

Thanks

Jesus its a contactor !

The debate is a joke, it seriously concerns me at some answers i have seen about how to wire a contactor, this is basic apprentice stuff!

If an apprentice couldn’t wire a contactor in their first month they are a lost cause in my eyes.

Why has something so basic taken so long to sort out?

Not all apprentices are taught though..............shame for the ones that didn't meet you in the first month of their time.

Wiring a contactor in the first month of an apprenticeship is probably the most ridiculous thing I have ever read on here...................with all due respect:)

With equal due respect, at nine years old I could wire a star delta starter, from scratch.

I now spend my time doing animated drawings to teach lads (and lasses, before I get my arse kicked) how motor starters work.

Sorry AJ I deleted the drawing.

Yes I always use the old colours. The simple reason is you can’t see the deference in the current path. Brown, Black and Grey just don’t work when trying to show the current paths in a drawing. A dead conductor I colour Black. They become Brown, Black or Grey when live. My eyesight is crap, my son has 20/20 vision with 100% colour definition, he can’t see the difference when the animated drawings change.

OK I’m old fashioned. It works though.

Hurrah for you mate............I'm impressed I really am.

The first 6 month of my apprenticeship was spent learning mechanical stuff................welding/drilling/machining/making a chisel with the blacksmith.........................etc etc.

After probs 9 month at college and working 3 shifts(19yr old and my uncle the unit engineer) and working with some of the best guys around I can put my hand on my heart and say a contactor to me in them days was an alien being( what the fk is a contactor I hadn't even been taught ohms law ffs!!)..................being able to 'wire/connect one up' at that time would not be allowed .............even if I knew how lol.
Your saying every apprentice should know how to connect a contactor up within a month?
Yeah rite lol.

9year old and being able to wire a star/delta starter from scratch !!!!
Nahhhh no fkin way mate your talking bollox:)
Or...................if you could..................there is no possible way on this earth you could possibly know at 9 year old WHY you were connecting a motor in Star for start up!
Sorry but we can't all be Einsteins and it's unfair for you to write off people who can't wire a contactor circuit up...........especially after 1 month into their apprenticeship............

And I say it again...............with 'total respect' after reading probably everyone of your posts.

I've seen a few posts here which tend to suggest that wiring in a motorhome (or caravan) wouldn't be subject to normal inspection rules, but even...
