Hi people, new to this forum.

just went to do an EICR and the upstairs lights aren’t RCD protected. Rather than fail it and say it needs a board change, I’d like to the circuit on an RCBO.
The Consumer Unit is an older style Emma/Contactum board. Am I right in thinking a new miniature Wylex RCBO will fit in there? There is a circuit on a Wylex MCB, so that’s why I’m thinking it will fit.
Just wanted some advice before I go and source the RCBO.
Thanks in advance

Why would it 'fail' and EICR? I would only code that a C3 which would still attract a satisfactory report. If a special location is fed from part of the circuit then I would look at the existing lighting within the location and check that supplementary bonding is in place, if all is good then no C2.

The Wylex device should not be there so needs Coding. Contactum produce compact rcbos.
Agree, westy...but if the RCBO won't fit in the older CU, would you reckon it's still a C3 for no circuit rcd......... and the Wylex cb still in place? ?

Do two C3's add up to a C2??...or a C6??
