Evening all.

Customer needs a new oven and electric hob. The current setup is 6mm T+E on 32A MCB, RCD protected, about 8M run, reference method 100. The oven they are looking at is 10.5KW. I initially thought that was too much but after adding diversity it seems ok. Are my calculations ok as I want to check.

My calculations are

10.5KW = 45.64A.

So 10A + 10.69A (30% of remainder f.l) with no socket = 20.69A

Think ive done everything right just seems 45A down to 20A is a big jump.

Does this sound ok.

Thanks in advance.

it`l be OK....remember that the oven will be massively overrated by the manufacturer....they tend to take the full load....rather than what will be on at any one time....so can the grill be on at the same time as the oven?

the cable is OK on a 32 A breaker....it should be fine...

if your really worried then connect up....clamp the cable...bet you get a surprise...
