Cooker, cooker hood & gas hob wiring

Hi guys. I'm doing an install shortly that involves the customer having a cooker hood, gas hob and cooker fitted and I require some advice. For starters it's a new install and I'm just wondering how people go about it having not dealt with a cooker and separate gas hob before.I'm a bit confused with regards to fused units and which circuits to run separately from the board. Any help much appreciated.

As above fcu for the hood and the igniter: you could fit them on a double gate box in one of the cupboards. Dont forget to work out a design current for the cooker: anything over 2KW and your looking at a dedicated radial mate..........APPENDIX 15 (P362) RING FINAL CIRCUIT ARRANGEMENTS, REGULATION 433.1.5
(iii) connecting cookers, ovens and hobs with a rated power exeeding 2KW on their own dedicated radial circuit..........

Ah, .....But don't forget that stated KW ratings on cooking appliances, especially ovens, are connected load ratings. So you need to check if all those elements can be operated at the same time, 9 times out of 10, ....they can't!!!

As in you dont have the grill AND the oven on full pelt at the same time 54 lol.........

you will need to know the rating of the oven and whether it's hard wired or on a plug top.

Its a mix what we end up fitting tel (if on a plug top my boss just crops em anyway) but you get the design current from dividing the wattage by the voltage so you can choose a suitable breaker/fuse at the board then you have a starting point for cable size etc.......
