can i wire a cooker extractor hood to the lighting circuit? i've read the manual looking for specs but can't find any! is it ok to connect it to the lighting circuit?

or make it a 5amp socket
thanks i was thinking the same but then i thought why drop it down using a fused spur as the lighting circuit is on a 6a mcb! so you think it would be ok? the only load would be on the fan motor startup
yes you could do that and mrs bloggs could potentially plug any appliance she saw fit into that socket, unless you were to make it a designated 5 amp socketthanks that where i am stuck i cant find any data on the fan motor anywhere, so a fused spur wouldnt do much, as the extractor has a plug (fitted with 13a fuse) i could just put a 3a fuse in the plug to a single socket off the lighting circuit
