Cordless grinder

I have used a mates makita 18v lithium ion loads and its a good grinder if I were to buy one that would be the one.

cordless grinders just aren't up to the job of cutting channels etc. They really 'hammer' the batteries (which is bad for them). I got rid of mine on eBay and now have a 240v Bosch Pro

bttery grinders are crap for electrical work, ie cutting tray, trunking, ladder. 110v grinders are themutts nuts, with a 0.8 or 1mm disc, but battery ones just dont have the power

I have 18V Makita Li Ion. It's really useful for quick jobs like cutting off padlock when customer has lost his key and grinding the heads off seized-up screws. Best if you use it as part of a tool 'system' with a few spare batteries as it'll only last a few minutes on one battery. For longer jobs, use a mains one.

The Dewalt DC413KL, 28v L-ion, 630W, is the best I've tried, good power for serious work but the battery run-time is still pathetic. My test is to cut through 1" diameter EN24 Tungsten steel on one battery charge, none have managed to get close yet, a serious test that even some small corded grinders struggle with. The DC413KL didn't quite complete it in two battery charges, best so far ... but still "no sale!"

I've had the 18V dewalt for years. Had to get new batts for it now but still usefull for the odd length of 2" tray here & there.
