I'm addressing the established electricians out there _

I'm new to the Electrician game. I want to know if the CG commercial 2365, level 2 and 3 is really worth the candle? At the moment, I'm finding it hard to commit to a Mon-Fri 8-7 set up this year. I should be better off next year. However in the meantime, I'm considering doing the 2365 to just keep my interest alive. By the way its 16 week course.

Would you consider taking someone on like me at the end of this course and thus also finishing my qualification to get my NVQ? Or am I completely wasting my time and money?

Thank you.

Daniel.

The city and Guilds 2365 is the de facto standard for progressing a career as an installation electrician, it is probably the best choice of course to select.

There are other courses by other providers out there that provide similar levels of qualification.

The guided learning hours are 480 hours so this would equate to a 30 hour week over 16 weeks.

Having this qualification would give you the best chance of being selected for employment to do your level 3 NVQ, although I would say it appears difficult to gain employment in general, but stick with and something will come up.

at a lot of colleges they do it two days a week over the year which can be better for some people as they can still work around it
