the 1.8 factor is just a rule of thumb , if you have the manufacturers data and the figure is lower , use that instead.

As Biff quite correctly states, the 1.8 factor is only used when your not in possession of manufacturers data.... In most cases the real factor will be much better.

Anyone remember those old 8' flu fittings that could draw almost 2A a piece?? ..lol!!
 
If its the 2391-20 course you are doing (or whatever the new numbering is for it) then the 1.8 factor should be suffice, its just an exam!!. Questions dont tend to give you any manuf data but if they did then use that instead.

And the 3 hr exam will soon fly past, just make sure you've had a go at all the questions ......
