can anyone tell me where electricians stand doing work in some ones council house i have been dealing direct with the customer who is renting the council house he wants extra sockets in his kitchen would i have to contact the council

I may be wrong, but as far as I'm aware, council tenants are not really allowed to do any alterations in their homes. I don't think much of councils personally, but they own the properties, therefore it's up to them to decide what gets done and by whom. I always ask who owns the house just so I'm clear. Call me cautious, but if there were to be any comeback, they wouldn't just be after the tenant, imho. Play safe, check it out first.

Regardless of whether you are Part p'd and verified or not it is still notifiable as it's in a 'special location'....
