Would like to have people's opinions on this. Currently I'm doing the 2357 c & g course electrotechnical level 3 and my pal is doing the eal level 3 course. Just want know which one is the better qualification to have because my payment of the course is a lot more than my pals eal course, cheers

From what I understand, the EAL 2394 and 2395 exams are a lot easier than the C&G exams.
For me, that it would suggest that EAL qualifications are not as good as C&G.
Unfortunately I cannot say whether that is the opinion held by the rest of the industry.
I suggest that you contact the JIB and perhaps the NICEIC to ask whether they would accept EAL qualifications.

Hi Abonadi.

Despite some of the comments you're likely to receive on here, the EAL and C+G are thought of exactly the same by the JIB. Some employers might question the EAL over C+G (the exams are easier being open book) but thats the employers choice. According to the industry they're both the same qualification.

Mark.

From the JIB's point of view they're exactly the same...i have c+g 2394 and 2395 and i was working not so long ago with a sparks who had the EAL - we got talking compared our gold jib cards and they're both worded exactly the same on the back.

IMO C&G is regarded higher than EAL due to C&G being around longer. Both qualifications are regarded the same by the JIB and EAL will come in to it's own eventually due to JTL now using them.
