Hi guys got to test a job tomorrow which I know has been installed incorrectly before I have even gone to the job but our "senior electrician" has done the work and my boss wont do anything about him.

Anyway 200a selective vels unit with 35 mm 4 core swa feeding a 3 phase disrubution board 140m away My colleagues have install 25mm double insulated tails to a single phase 100a selective vels unit ( single phase taking from black phase / no balancing out of the phases to accomadate for this ) the 100a vels unit is approximately 3m away and inturn feeds 70 16mm2 3 core swa to another disrubution board with a couple of circuits on.

I am ment to complete a eic and return to my boss to sign off the work.( I wont sign off the work for the company as the work is never to my standard) I will just test the circuits record results and note deviations.

There are the obvious problems.undersized cables for the overcurrent device ( which my boss will argue rcd covers it).balancing out of the black phase. problem is I know when running parrellel circuits off the same breaker has to be done with equal length s of the same size csa but I want to be clear on the reasoning for this before I jump in with both feet

Been today and installed 50mm2 double insulated tails from the 200a to feed 2 x 100a src units for the 2 circuits. Still has two completly different circuits coming away from the srcs one been the 140m 35mm2 with a load of 54a the second circuit been 70m 16mm2 4 core swa with a load of only 15a. I believe this still to be incorrect with regards the parrellel paths coming away from the 200a but I am still unsure of tge technical reasons for this.

If someone cound help explain would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

I would, if i could understand your terminology!! So i'll leave it to others that maybe can understand it!! ... lol!!

Srcs meaning selective residual current units. Basically its a 60898 mcb with 26946 shunt attached and the tails are fed thou a vels unit to detect the imbalances.
