Crimp colours

Good Evening all can someone explain to me the colour system on crimps i believe they refere to amp ratings ?

I thaught they related to the cable size(although that does correspond to the CCC of the crimp)

I think its red for 1.5mm2
blue for 2.5mm2
yellow for 4mm2?

i dont know of any reason why they are the colours they are
red 1.5 blue 2.5 yellow 4 and 6mm
and use a ratchet crimper

There is a standard for crimps, DIN 46237 sorry dont know what the BS is if if there is one. Entering Din 46237 gives loads of info if you really want to look into it.

That is correct and as mark says it is important to use a crimper set correctly
