CSCS / ECS Cards

Hi all, I'm in the process of applying for one of the above cards, I've completed my H&S test and need to send the cheque away an actual card, however I'm a bit confused.:blush5:

Can I apply for a Trainee ECS card without an employer (i'm currently on the dole) or should I just go for a General Operative CSCS card, if so will my 2330 L2 cert be enough for me to be eligible?

To gain an ECS card you have to do the ECS health and safety test which is different to CSCS tests...Your best bet is to do the ECS test,as this applys to electrical work,the CSCS doen't apply to electrical work.. your probaberly get electrical labourer as you need a company to sponsor you to get a trainnee card....either way it'll get you on site...

Cheers for that, typical when I've already done the CSCS H&S test ha ha, guess I'll go and do the ECS one aswell.

Got my CSCS card, after speaking to them direct it turns out that for the general operative one you dont need a sponsor company. You can actually just use a friend or family member with a 'skilled' card, I used my Dad. Just asked for his address, didnt even contact him. Mad??!!
