Any reason why 6x1.5 mm singles within 20mm plastic cinduit on surface shouldnt be used for a 3kw load. Length if run is about 6 metres. Fused a 13a via sf spur.
Thanks

When calculating cable sizes for motors you do not take into account starting current, only running current.
From an electrical installation point of view I'm sure this may be true but if you want to get the best motor performance and reliability it would be wise to be aware of the size and duration of the start current.

Just a couple of days ago we had a thread about surface flex lying ontop of the garden and now this, I really love this forum, it is better than watching Benny Hill on Utube, it's grrrreeeaaatttttt

Wholesalers didnt have any 2.5. I thought I would save my 1.5 for a shower cicuit so I got some .75mm instead. The heater I wired is very efficient. Everything glows.
Btw everyone, did anybody do their cable calcs? 6m of 1.5mm2 holding 3kw? Its in the regs! Who's the cowboy. Sad sad people. And kinduit is conduit with fat finger syndrome!
