Hi,

Was talking to a guy earlier today who has tested his water in his marine aquarium, he found he had 64v, this is obviously due to the pumps etc in there but someone advised him to just change the seting on his multimeter to amps abd see what it said,

He was originally testing between the water and a radiator, but how would he measure current coz it aint gonna work that way is it?!

Sorry mate what are you checking for,to see if the fish are going to get electrocuted.I have a massive pond in my garden full of koi carp and i have 2 pumps running in it:confused:

On this sort of note, this may be of interest to somebody.
i had a client that had a hot tub in the garden sat on a bit of decking that was sat on the grass.
Connected it all up, RCD did the business etc etc, it was a big house and the cable run was about 50 mtrs. I had a call later in the week saying the water was live, anyway as you can imagine I got to the house in a nano second stuck my hand in.......nothing.....took my shoe off to stand on the grass and it was quite sexy really that tingling up your arm. any way lesson learned, make sure you spike it

Why would you spike it.There has to be another problem there if you are getting a tingle from the hot tub.Is the earth that supplies the hot tub adequate from the supply.
