Hi,

Was talking to a guy earlier today who has tested his water in his marine aquarium, he found he had 64v, this is obviously due to the pumps etc in there but someone advised him to just change the seting on his multimeter to amps abd see what it said,

He was originally testing between the water and a radiator, but how would he measure current coz it aint gonna work that way is it?!

Reason being is that you get a differential between the earths from the supply in the house and the mass of earth, spiking it down gets rid of the differential

arsenal couldn't do it then
Sorry mate just read up on hot tubs.Never had to install one before.Seems they come with a connector to spike them. What was that about Arsenal. All i wanted was them to score and hopefully Liverpool win the title.Hate ManU with a vengeance:eek:

Ok.

So for the un-initiated amongst us, could you chaps explain why there would be a potential between the CPC from the house and the general mass of earth.
Are you going to let us know or keep us in suspense:confused:

It's to do with the hot tub itself , the last few i installed have come with an earth spike as part of the kit to drive in and reduce the potential between the building earth and the hot tub to zero therefore in the event of fault the equipotential zone will definately include the hot tub and surrounding area eliminating the risk of PD and shock.
Cheers Lenny:confused:
