Hey guys

Looking to go self employed in the near future and need to get a good cv in order. What do people look for on a CV?

My english is terrible if I'm honest so could do with a good template to go off if any one knows any good ones?

Thanks for the help guys

Was taught years ago that a C.V. should be fairly brief, around two pages in total.
Typically you might have a brief 'personal profile', a summary of your education/qualifications, employment history, perhaps with a brief explanation of your roles and competences and references. Some also include personal interests.
No doubt there are some free document templates on the Internet and some sources of advice on content. Some suggest the use of snazzy 'keywords' and all that but I don't go in for too much of that tat.

Gear your covering letter to the job for which you are applying (and also tailor your CV to match their specified requirements as much as possible).

If they have asked for specific experience or skills, ensure that you mention all that are relevant (in brief) in the covering letter and you can always say "you will see from my CV" or such like.
The covering letter will be the first thing they start to read and it must catch their attention at once so that they will then read the CV otherwise they will start reading the letter and decide "no" and not read the CV.

Keep it formal, relevant to the job and brief.
