Walking to the park this morning with Mrs and kids, press the button on the crossing, green man appears, we are half way across and a mid 50s woman nearly mows us down on a push bike.

i shout at her that's it's our right of way, can't you see the f'ing red light and a green man you f'ing moron.

she just ignored me and continued. The best bit is that she was looking at us and grinning knowing full well what she was doing.

if I see her again I'll run her off her bike!

It's a shame you used such strong language in front of your children.

Although the cyclist is totally in the wrong, you should still look out for traffic when crossing as there are plenty of nutters out there, not just cyclists.

It's about time they sat a driving test and had number plates like all the other road users. they complain about how hard done by they are, and need space on the road. well if they are using the roads, they should be under the same rules as everyone else. and if they had license plates they would be easier to trace when they act like they own the road.

Go to Bradford red lights mean go for lots of drivers. I drive around the place but hate crossing the road on foot.
Have to agree some cyclists think they own the road go through red lights overtake on the left at junctions.
The problem is there is no deterrant.

Got me realy mad one day three cyclists riding abreast of each other doing a snails pace for a long way untill we got to go down hill at the bottom of the hill was a roundabout so over took them and setoff up the hill, they followed so slowed right down to a snails pace. Watching them having to almost stop, change down gears and having to pedal like the clappers was heaven. Wrong I know and two wrongs dont make it right but it felt like it did:yes:

Militant bike riders are all over the place now , they seem to take joy at upsetting any other road users , even riding in the middle of the road and cutting up any body they see, I saw on the tv recently a guy that goes out with a video camera on his helmet , looking for any thing to cause trouble , he then posted his crap on you tube , and gave verbal out whenever he could , there is no policing for this sort of thing and there should be some sort of registration for them too , so they can be traced....

ive got a camera in front and back of my car and there are plenty of nutters recorded on it.

i usually wave and point at the camera then smile when they slow down and sink into there seat

We have lots of issues on our local roads with cyclists who feel they're indestructible. I think both the cyclists and the motorists are equally at fault, they're just a bad mix when they're on the same road with both having equally combative attitudes. There's dozens killed each year around here and there's no signs of the situation getting any better.

pushbikes have no place on public roads imho

i see them regually on 60mph+ roads on mountain bikes, i don't mind people on road bikes if they can keep up with the flow of traffic

when i was a kid, riding a bike, it was expressly stated in the highway code that on narrow or busy roads, ride single file. so these days, on a narrow country road, you get the cycling clubs ( several hundred of the loonies ) riding 3 abreast and giving the finger to drivers that can't get past. time for a cull.

I live on the route where they have their annual jolly up (was yesterday) and every weekend is ruined by the sheer numbers of them. They deliberately cycle away from the kerb because they know most (not me) will refuse to overtake them, the further away from the kerb they are, the closer I'm going to have to pass. They also tend to look over their right shoulder and always end up swerving to the right as they do it. They're complete idiots and I have a lot of hatred for them, and even more for those who won't overtake them.

I used to cycle quite a bit. A while back, new speed bumps caught me out and suffered a few cuts, bruises, and broken bones.
I haven't been back on my bike since. I now don't live close enough to work to make it a remotely practical proposition.
As a driver and a cyclist, I was aware of other road users. I found that many car drivers are not.

Talking about drivers, I avoid crashes on a daily basis due to other drivers, roundabouts seem a particular problem, especially one on the a217 and nearly had a head on crash this morning after coming round a corner to find a car on my side of the road, God knows how I didn't hit him.
As for cyclists, most here seem to think that they don't have to pay any attention to cars because cars will pay attention to them. They're a complete and utter nightmare.
