hi fellas, just an info post
i live on a private parkhome estate"hoburne naish" new milton, the power is suppled by them(10p per unit)just recently our row of homes keep having power outages, one tonight btw
its really annoying and the 5th time in a month
i reckon its due to overload due to the the cold weather, its amazing how one relyes on electicity! without it no oven/hob or heating, computer, lights,
i,m thinking of a small genny or an inverter and 2 12v r/v batterys to power it
btw i,m a sparky of 45 plus years
just thought i,d get that off my chest!
cheers
andy

cheers john, luckily for me the next unit is mostly unoccupied
as u say a genny would be the better option
an inverter would allow me heating though, as the gas combi would work, and my lights and computer and tv
maybye both options!

Was swapping a few boards out in a social club cellar yesterday. Got the temp extension lead supplies ran in so there was power and light to work with, power to beer pumps and to cooling units. Excellent, bar still functoning, all tools hauled into cellar.
Got the first board front off....... Power cut. Grumpy geezers with no beer or light for snooker, and demoted to working by torchlight for the next hour and a half. Couldnt have been timed more perfectly.

Geny will power computer, tv, fridge (beer), boiler etc. They come with a 16a socket same as most static caravans so easy to unplug from mains and plug straight into geny. Only thing to remember is to have fuel and not to try and run too many things off it.
I have an old very small 2 stroke geny that will just about power my central heating boiler and my tv if we get a power cut :)
