On route to job this morning and my van gave a very disheartening bang from the engine, cut out and wouldn't turn over. Spent the morning getting van recovered and now have the dilemma, do I rent a van while the mechanic tries to fix it, or do what sounds like the best plan, buy a new van and see what I can do with the old one (repair if viable or sell for parts). Not looking for answers just sharing my cr@ppy day!!!

Just a little update, went to buy myself a second hand vivaro or trafic and walked out with a brand spanking, new style vivaro. ÂŁ12k which I though was a not bad deal considering I saw a second hand vivaro with 10k miles for the same price (old style).

12k for a van? you must be earning too much. i paid 900 for my heap 2 years ago. so far it's cost ÂŁ40 for 2 tyres and a ÂŁ50 repair for mot. oh, and i threw a gallon of sludge in it last month ÂŁ25.

Couldn't be bothered with buying a van that would need to keep going in and out of the garage, can't really afford down time! Hopefully this should give me at least 4 years reliable service???!!?? Renault trafic for sale if any one wants one!!!
